Profile
Atif specialises in road traffic accident cases, cases dealing with public and employers liability. He has a keen interest in foreign law claims involving accidents abroad and holiday sickness and has developed an array of technical, jurisdictional knowledge in this field, involving issues of choice of law and the practicalities of successfully pursuing a foreign insurer and recovering compensation. Trying to navigate these disputes without specialist advice can be a minefield.
As the Head of Applebys Road Traffic Accident Unit he deals with various types of motor accidents. The Unit will seek compensation for you if the accident was not your fault, whether you are the driver, a passenger, a pedestrian or a motor cyclist. Atif specialises in claims for minor soft tissue injuries such as whiplash, right through to more serious life threatening and life changing injuries, which may include disabling spinal cord or brain injuries. Atif also specialises accidents in the work place which may include any accident that occurred due to unsafe or hazardous working conditions. Examples of accidents at work include where a safety guard has been removed and the use of old equipment or defective equipment.
Atif has been successfully running cases for over 10 years and has built up a wealth of experience in litigating against some the largest insurers in the country. He will not hesitate to make use of the courts if it is in the best interest of his client.
Atif has a particular interest in housing disrepair claims and understands how the disrepair can cause great disruption and distress to a tenant. He has exceptional knowledge in the legal requirements and under Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 & Fitness for human habitation Act 2018. He has built a reputation of achieving the best outcome for his clients and penalising the Defendant for unfair conduct.
Atif is able to bring his array of long standing technical knowledge in various fields of law to provide the best advice and settlement. He is able to assist at every stage from the initial advice all the way to trial.
He is described as warm, engaging and approachable which makes him particularly popular with nervous clients and in disputes of a sensitive nature. He is pleased to accept instructions to advise and represent clients.
Since University, where Atif studied computer science to a post graduate level, he has specialised in law bringing an analytical and technical aspect to the field. He enjoys martial arts, travelling, rock climbing and training his German Shepherd.
