Press statement – Ashley Talbot

Melanie, John and Natasha Talbot would like to thank everyone that has been involved in the investigations surrounding our son Ashley’s death. In particular Helen Turner and her colleague Paul Kloss from the Health and Safety Executive and Keith Davies and Gethin Hewer from South Wales Police.

The Family are satisfied with the outcome of the HSE prosecution and the sentence imposed by the Cardiff Crown Court they would however, remind the public and the responsible officials of the local authority in particular that in spite of years of investigation by the Health and Safety Executive, the Coroners office and the Police there has still not been any apology to the family for the death of their only son. It would appear that it is easier for those who hold office in the UK to simply pay a fine than to act with human decency. The family wish it to be known that they have suffered significant press intrusion since the death of their child and would ask now for the press to leave them to grieve their loss in peace.

END.
